RoHS services


The EU RoHS-directive (2002/957EC) restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. From July 1, 2006  the RoHS directive restricts the use of the following substances:

  • Cadmium
  • Mercury
  • Lead
  • Hexavalent chromium
  • Brominated flame retardants PBB and PBDE

Screening Services

With the help of SGS Fimko's screening service the concentration values of hazardous substances is clarified without breaking the product, components or material.

IECEE Reporting Services for Hazardous Substances

SGS Fimko Ltd offers a new service to publish - on an internet centralised public database - the test results for RoHS substances present in materials and components used in electrotechnical products.  Tests are performed according to the latest international standards (IEC 62321).
