The Automotive EMC Directive

The Automotive EMC Directive applies to vehicles and electronic devices used in them. The directive requires that testing is carried out by an impartial testing laboratory recognised by the appropriate authorities and that type approval is issued by the vehicle administration authorities. The directive is already in force and must be applied to components and parts installed in vehicles by October 2002. The products are marked with the letter "e" instead of the CE marking.
