SGS offers laboratory services covering the entire domain of environmental analysis of water, air, soil, waste and asbestos. Research and development are the foundation on which the laboratories have built their experience in the determination of low-level concentrations of dioxins and other micropollutants. Using state-of-the-art equipment, other new applications are regularly worked out and new methods are developed and validated for both internal and external use. Key concepts for the SGS laboratories remain competence, skill and liability. The assured quality of their operations is demonstrated by ISO 17025 accreditation for a continually increasing number of areas of competence.
